JINJA & NILE RIVER TOURS

A trip to Uganda, is not complete without visiting Jinja the home to the River Nile- the world’s Longest River. Jinja is Uganda’s second largest and busiest commercial town after Kampala. It is located in Eastern Uganda on the shores of Lake Victoria; it’s where you will also find the source of the Nile River where a traveler can opt on the many activities including: 

Zip lining or Mabira Forest Canopy

The Mabira Forest Canopy Super Skyway is a canopy “zip-line” system that sends you soaring between the tallest trees in the rainforest. You will be led across a network of 5 zip-lines that stretches 250 meters across River Musamya. High up in the canopy one is able to enjoy a view of the forest layers, mammals like grey cheeked Mangabeys and red-tailed monkeys, birds like palm nut vultures, African fish eagles, great blue turacos and the roaring griffin falls, making your zip a memorable day.

Kayak the Nile   

Grade 5 Tandem Kayaking is the ultimate activity for thrill seekers and allows you (with little or no experience of kayaking before) to take on some of the biggest and best rapids in a single day.

The introductory day to White Water kayaking is an opportunity to learn the skills that you need, even if you have never been in a kayak before, to enjoy some of the whitewater that the Nile has to offer. This is sure to give you a memorable experience, off the tourist trail.

The guide will help you spot some of the 80 species of birds on the Nile whilst sharing his local knowledge at the source of the Nile and Lake Victoria.

Rafting the river Nile

The White Nile in Jinja has up to seven times the volume of the Zambezi River. Bungee jumping

Bungee jumping is an awesomely amazing that takes place on the Nile River- longest River in Africa found in Jinja. Uganda is the only country in the whole of East Africa from where you can have this incredible experience. The minimum age allowed to do this jump is 13 years and the best time to take it on is during the sunny days for memorable photography.  

A responsible team of experts will take you through the entire activity and ensure that it is fun for you. After climbing at the top of the point of the bungee tower that accommodates up to 235 kilograms, you can choose to do it with a friend. You will have a magnificent view of the Nile flow below your eyes, watching the forested islands with troops of monkeys swinging and wondering over trees. The feeling is indeed splendid and complimented by on lookers from the neighboring area who cheer you up. 

You will be tied in a way that is meant to protect you and give you a feel of comfort.  You can choose between the ankle tie enabling your whole body swing freely while facing upside down and a full body tie where you can swing like a butterfly in the air and this will allow you free style, somersault and enjoy beautiful photographs taken from the best view in the air. You can prefer a long jump where some parts of your body such as the hands and head are sunk into the Nile or a short jump and whichever choice taken, you will extremely enjoy it.

On the count of 3.2.1, you will take the jump. Being one of the most daring sport activities, you may fear and fail to try this out but you’ll never know what you will have missed though it is not recommended for those afraid of heights. 

When you reach the bottom, a guide will be awaiting you and he will help untie you then lead you to a place of your preference from where you can relax. 

Horseback riding
